Optional Parameters

As stated in previous sections there are a number of different types of parameters that can be defined in the i2b2 Administration module. Depending where they are defined will determine how the i2b2 behaves. Here is a recap of the different types of parameters.

 

Type of Parameter

Description

Hive Parameters

  • Affects the entire hive.

  • Is not specific to a cell, user or project.

Cell Parameters

  • Specific to the cell in which it is defined.

  • Does not affect other cells in the hive.

  • Is not specific to a user or project.

User Parameters

  • Specific to the user in which it is defined.

  • Does not affect other users.

  • Is not specific to any one project.

Project Parameters

  • Specific to the project in which it is defined.

  • Does not affect other projects.

  • Will affect all users who have access to the project.

Project User Parameters  

  • Specific to the user and the project in which it is defined.  

  • Does not affect other users within the project.

  • Does not affect other projects the user has access to.
